George’s profound love for his career at Joy Senior Living Services is deeply rooted in his devotion to his 90-year-old mother, Joy, whom he has the privilege of caring for daily. A few years ago, George and his sister faced the challenging decision of relocating their cherished mother from her lifelong home. After extensive research and numerous community visits, they came to the unanimous conclusion that an independent retirement community just minutes from George’s home was the best option. In this vibrant community, George’s mother found not only a fulfilling daily routine but also a circle of friends. She enjoys daily walks along a scenic trail, engages in bridge games three times a week, and participates in lively games of 42 and Farkle three nights a week. Dining with her friends in a beautiful setting, she is relieved of the burdens of cooking, cleaning, and laundry. She often tells George, “I live in a great place.” Had they known how well she would adapt to her new community, they would have been far more confident in their decision to move her from their childhood home.
Through this journey, George gained invaluable knowledge about the diverse senior living options in the DFW area. He also came to understand the emotional and overwhelming nature of this process.
